Terrific images.A few months before making the very stylish and creepy Murders in the Rue Morgue, Robert Florey directed the notorious and lost test reel for Frankenstein, with Lugosi as The Monster. Oh, what it must have looked like!
It breaks my heart to think of all the amazing footage that has been lost, and yet, perhaps it is necessary somehow, if only to strengthen the appreciation for what remains...I wonder how differently the story of Lugosi VS Karloff (or vice versa, as the case may have been?) would have been in the history books had that version been made.As always, thanks for visiting, Pierre. We love your site!XOX-rebecca
Oh I still want that hourglass. They have some lovely ones at Paxtons Gate. I had forgotten how beautiful the sets are in this film. Love these!
